Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $176,300 to $293,800. This role is eligible for incentives.

Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.

Position Summary:

This global role leads employment policy, employee relations, and labor relations for Grainger. This role coordinates crisis management for team members and uses data to analyze and predict trends, develop strategies that improve leader effectiveness, simplify processes, foster positive employee relations, ensure compliance (e.g., OFCCP audits), and support inclusion efforts.

You Will:

Enterprise-Wide Employee Relations Responsibilities (covers all business units and functions globally):

  • Develop and align global employee/labor relations strategy with business and HR goals.
  • Promote positive relations through fair policies and strategic collaboration with HR, Legal, and leadership.
  • Establish enterprise framework for Employee Relations operating model across enterprise
  • Develop preventative and proactive strategies for addressing inappropriate workplace behaviors and facilitating conflicts
  • Guide policy development to ensure consistency, equity, and scalability.
  • Develop or leverage HR analytics and trend analysis for predictive employee relations management
  • Oversee and conduct investigations for high-risk employee relations cases and ensure proper adjudication.
  • Manage employee relations during organizational crises or major business disruptions
  • Own processes for enabling team leaders and HR partners to strategically manage employee performance coaching, counseling, and outcomes
  • Conduct regular ER audits to manage people-related risks.
  • Demonstrated operational rigor and comfort with HR technology tools and case management systems
  • Prepare reports for senior leadership and the Board.

Employment Policy & Compliance:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of US employment laws, regulations, policies, and practices
  • Oversee adherence to employment laws and internal policies.
  • Manage OFCCP reviews and Affirmative Action Plans.
  • Expertise in California Employment Law is highly preferred

Labor Relations:

  • Develop and deploy enterprise labor relations strategy
  • Assess and tailor LR programs for each site/facility across the enterprise
  • Educate leaders on employee/labor relations through integrated learning.

Leadership:

  • Strategic Mindset - Develop and drive strategy for ER team
    This global role leads employment policy, employee relations, and labor relations for Grainger.   • Drives Vision & Purpose - able to lead team through change and Improvement cycles
  • Ensures accountability - able to assess and coach for continuous elevation of teams' skillsets D, MBA, or Master's in a related field preferred

You Have:

  • 10+ years in HR/business leadership; 5+ years in employee/labor relations.
  • Experience in global change management and strategic consulting.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead complex initiatives.

Travel Requirements:

Must be able to travel within and outside the US; up to 20%
