SUMMARY OF DUTIES: This position is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and reporting of Amtrak's Safety Performance. This person provides advanced analytical and reporting services to Safety and the business lines within Operations with the goal of achieving proactive risk identification, mitigation strategies and/or improved processes that reduce injuries, hazards and risk in the workplace. This person will have a full understanding of the multiple data sources the team relies on to accomplish their analytical tasks. Additionally, this person will assist with the analysis/assurance of safety processes and procedures to determine effectiveness and monitor and report on Safety Performance KPIs. The key focus of this position is to advance Amtrak's safety culture by using data for proactive safety risk identification and mitigation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform comprehensive data and trend analyses using diverse internal and external data sources to identify safety risks and highlight opportunities for mitigation strategies and process improvements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in safety, Transportation, Business, Data Analytics or a related field (equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree). MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and review data, identify trends, and recommend appropriate corrective actions/mitigations. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION OR QUALIFICATIONS: 6-9 Years working in safety performance, system/operational safety, transportation operations, or another similar position. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Conducts in-person, telephone, and email dialogues. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Communicates, comprehends, and responds to verbal statements and instructions, both orally and in writing. The salary range is$94,300-$122,256. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
