Job Description

Assists Physical Therapists/Occupational Therapists with patient care and clerical support in outpatient rehabilitation.

Job Responsibility




  • * Assists Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists with patient bed mobility/transfers/ambulation and exercises to provide assistance to patients as required by the Therapists.

    • Assists PTs/OTs with patient instruction of activities of daily living.
    • Prepares hot packs, cold packs, and other treatment protocols under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapists/Occupational Therapists.
    • Measures/adjusts walkers/canes/ crutches for patients.
    • Greets patients in the waiting area and escorts them into the therapy area as necessary.

  • * Maintains the therapy outpatient area: disinfects equipment, maintains linen supplies, changes linens on treatment tables following each patient use

    • Maintains equipment including, but not limited to, unpacking and stocking closets with equipment, i.e canes and crutches.

  • * Clerical duties include, but are not limited to: answer and direct calls, take messages, retrieve voice mail.

    • Performs other clerical duties as directed by the Clinical Manager/Supervisor e.g. photocopying, mail rounds etc.

  • Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification




  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Experience in physical therapy, preferred.
  • Knowledge of assistive devices for ambulation, patient transfer equipment (wheelchair and stretcher functions and safety), hydrocollator and CPM, required.
