Summary of Position: |
Primary responsibilities include programming for Ferris' degree audit platform, MyDegree (Degree Works by Ellucian). This position scribes curricular changes, generates reports, reviews curriculum proposals, and provides customer service related to MyDegree. This is a full-time, continuing position. |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: |
Three to five years of demonstrated work experience in higher education using an enterprise software program. Familiarity with academic advising and student records. Exposure to post-secondary curriculum processes and procedures. Experience with Degree Works or other degree audit platforms in the test environment. Knowledge of Ferris general education requirements. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
* Work collaboratively across the institution to program Degree Works using the Ellucian scribing language to scribe academic program and technical requirements. * Analyze and troubleshoot system problems concerning degree audits. * Review current processes, evaluate, and implement changes for improvement. * Provide assistance to faculty, staff, and students, and serve as a liaison to other key departments for degree audit evaluations for all degree programs. * Maintain records (e.g. logs, notes, correspondence, memoranda, and reports) to ensure accurate, efficient, and effective operation of the automated degree audit system. * Assist in creating of documentation and training materials to assist faculty & staff on Degree Works Specific Duties. * Serve as the Scribe for all academic programs and curricular changes in collaboration with the RAM team (Registrar's Office, Academic Affairs, & MyDegree). * Interact with Academic Affairs, the University Curriculum Committee, IT personnel, and degree program representatives to create accurate degree audits for all Ferris State University degree programs, minors, and certificates. * Participate in the work of the MyDegree Advisory Board, especially the testing procedures. * Maintain functional knowledge of Ferris curriculum/graduation requirements including general education requirements. * Follow all procedures as outlined in the DegreeWorks Configuration & Release documentation manuals. * Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). * Stay current with new releases of MyDegree, by researching scribe techniques, participating in the Ellucian E-Commons, and other activities that keep Ferris' scribing current. * Generate Transit reports to identify which academic programs use courses affected by curriculum proposals. * Update and maintain MyDegree departmental website. * Assist in the monitoring of the MyDegree departmental e-mail and responds to questions as needed. * Assist in answering the MyDegree support line and assists users as needed. * Maintain the Academic Affairs Checksheet Repository by creating and uploading the correct and current checksheets for each program and adding new programs when approved through the curriculum process. * Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty and staff to thrive authentically. * Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives. * Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. |
