Workloads range from new "born-in-the-cloud" services to traditional applications migrated from physical datacenters.As a Senior Software Engineer in the Azure Pilotfish team you will be responsible for building services responsible for managing the fleet of servers in Pilotfish. This includes services that provision servers, monitor and diagnose software and hardware issues and support new types of hardware that are customers are demanding. ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on-call to monitor systems/products/services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, and triages service issues to restore service with minimal customer/business impact, and to prevent future occurrences.Ensures that their work meets the quality and compliance standards and requirements for security, privacy, accessibility, and other Microsoft engineering-specific requirements.Contributes to efforts to improve the performance, efficiency, and reliability of services and products through the use of telemetry data and other metrics. |
