Customer Segment Leader - Electrical Transformers & Substation Equipment

We're seeking a Customer Segment Leader to lead strategic commercial initiatives and expand customer adoption of our transformer and substation equipment services. This is a high-impact role for someone who understands the electrical power industry and thrives at the intersection of technical expertise and commercial leadership.
What You'll Do
As the Customer Segment Leader, you will serve as the commercial engine for your region-partnering with Sales, Operations, and Engineering to drive revenue, margin, and new customer growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional commercial activities to achieve revenue, orders, and contribution margin goals.
- Develop and execute data driven market growth strategies aligned with the company's Growth Playbook.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with new and existing customers while deepening understanding of their equipment, needs, and operational challenges.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on power transformers, substation equipment, and related service capabilities.
- Evaluate market opportunities, competitive activity, and economic drivers to identify new areas for growth.
- Lead pricing strategy, terms and conditions negotiations, and customer onboarding.
- Support the Sales team with product knowledge and technical application insights.
- Manage follow-up on proposals, service activities, and feedback to strengthen customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Generate analytical reports and support commercial review processes.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales Operations, Sourcing, Components, and external sales reps.
What You Bring
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of electrical transformers, power systems, and substation equipment (preferred/ideal).
- Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
- Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving capability.
- Financial acumen, including pricing and profitability analysis
- Experience reading and interpreting technical and commercial bid specifications.
- Comfort with engineering project management concepts.
- Strong presentation and customer engagement skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business with knowledge of substation electrical equipment.
- 3 - 5 years of technical sales experience with power systems equipment - specifically transformers, substations, or utility components.
Additional Details
Work Environment: Office-based with customer site visits
Travel: Approximately 30-50% (1-2 trips per month)
