This is ahybrid position based out of Feeding America's Chicago office location. At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment. Employees can be in the office an average of 2 days a week (when not travelling for work) and work from home on other days. Employees also have access to a 30-day "work anywhere" program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays.

The Opportunity
The Specialist, Digital Experience Creator is a strategic thinker and imaginative storyteller responsible for crafting dynamic, user-centered brand experiences across all digital platforms. From concept to execution, this role integrates visual design, interaction, and innovation to ensure that every digital touchpoint is engaging, accessible, and deeply aligned with Feeding America's brand voice, mission, and values.
Compensation

Here at Feeding America national organization, equality is central to our mission and is an integral part of our compensation policies and structures. As such, we maintain transparent salary ranges and clearly defined practices for how our team, including new hire salary offers, moves through these ranges. You can expect us to offer the best salary up front based on these clearly defined pay practices with little room for negotiation. We make exceptions for highly experienced (multiple years of at-level experience) new hires in accordance with our pay practices. Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions.

Salary Range: $78,000 - $83,000 Based on Experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and Build Compelling Digital Experiences
    Create visually engaging and intuitive digital content across platforms (web, mobile, email, and social), ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and user needs.
  • Innovate with Emerging Technologies
    Explore and apply new digital tools and storytelling formats (e.g., interactive content, motion graphics, AR/VR, Webflow, Figma prototypes) to elevate brand experiences.
  • Champion User-Centered Design
    Apply UX/UI best practices to ensure all digital touchpoints are accessible, inclusive, responsive, and tailored to diverse audience behaviors and preferences.
  • Lead Digital Creative for Campaigns
    Drive concepting and execution of digital experience elements within brand and marketing campaigns, testing and iterating as needed to maximize performance and engagement.
  • Collaborate Across Functions
    Partner with brand, web, content, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of digital assets and alignment with storytelling and campaign objectives.
  • Prototype and Iterate
    Rapidly mockup and test interactive concepts, incorporating feedback, usability insights, and performance data to refine and improve digital experiences.
  • Ensure Accessibility and Responsiveness
    Design digital content that meets accessibility standards (WCAG), performs across all devices and browsers, and reflects the organization's equity-centered approach.
  • Develop Bilingual and Culturally Responsive Content
    Create assets in both English and Spanish that resonate with diverse audiences and reflect cultural nuance and relevance.
  • Monitor Trends and Recommend Solutions
    Stay up to date on digital design, technology, and experience trends; proactively introduce new ideas, tools, and formats that improve audience engagement.
  • Maintain and Optimize Digital Asset Libraries
    Organize, manage, and continuously improve digital templates, assets, and creative libraries for consistency, efficiency, and reuse.
    Required Experience and Qualifications:
      • 1-2 years of experience in digital design, interactive media, UX/UI design, or creative technology.
      • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Figma, and motion/interactive platforms (e.g., Webflow, Lottie, Adobe XD).
      • Experience designing for web, mobile, and emerging platforms with a strong eye for detail, usability, and visual storytelling.
      • Understanding of digital accessibility and inclusion standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1 or later).
      • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital experience work, demonstrating strategic thinking, creativity, and execution from concept to delivery.
      • Excellent collaboration, time management, and communication skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and partners.
      Preferred:
      • Familiarity with front-end principles (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
      • Experience working in mission-driven or nonprofit organizations.
      • Experience with user research or usability testing to inform creative decisions.
      • Knowledge of social impact or advocacy-focused campaigns.
      • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with ability to design content that resonates culturally and linguistically with diverse audiences.
