Position Summary: The Consumer Accounts Resolution Team Lead for TBK Bank is a relationship oriented, results driven individual who can handle working with people in high stress situations. The primary objective of this position is to lead the Consumer Accounts Resolution team, manage risk of the delinquent consumer loan portfolio, collect payments, resolve past due balances and recover the bank's loan assets while ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory requirements. Additional duties may include assisting the Special Assets Group with commercial loans, repossessions, foreclosures or other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Accounts Resolution Team in managing the delinquent consumer loan portfolio.

  • Work directly with consumer borrowers to collect payments, resolve past due balances and gather information that can aid in recovery of bank assets.

  • Review collateral quality and recovery costs to determine appropriate course of action.

  • Recommend loans for collection services and charge-off per policy standards.

  • Utilize skip tracing tools to locate debtors and collateral for recovery.

  • Accurately record and retain communication logs with all debtors.

  • Prepare, review and issue delinquency letters and related notices.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all bank policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that all collection efforts are completed in compliance with all laws and regulations.

  • Communicate with SAG team members regularly on portfolio issues as necessary.

  • Identify areas to provide training opportunities to team members.

  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for department efficiencies, process and procedure improvements, and overall team success.

  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 5+ years consumer collections experience required.

  • Degree preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to build relationships with customers, have difficult conversations with others and remain calm when dealing with customers in stressful situations. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Highly developed communication skills and strong negotiation skills.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills self-motivated and reliable, drive to hit performance targets in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to think critically in analytical and strategically.

  • Good computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Strong collaborative skills and a team player.

  • Creative problem solving, organization, attention to detail, flexibility and adaptability is crucial to the success of this role.
