Knowledge Manager - MILSATCOM SE&I Location: El Segundo, CA (On-site) Status: Full-Time Clearance: Active DoD Secret (preferred) Compensation: $91,000 - $114,000 Join Astrion's MILSATCOM Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team and help drive the future of secure, resilient satellite communications for the U.S. Space Force. As a Knowledge Manager, you will be at the center of mission-critical information sharing, ensuring classified and unclassified data is structured, protected, and easily accessible to decision-makers across the DoD enterprise. In this role, you'll lead the development of knowledge repositories and collaboration platforms, enforce governance standards, and champion best practices that strengthen organizational readiness and cross-directorate collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize knowledge repositories and collaboration platforms (SharePoint, MS Teams, Confluence, TopVue). Organize, structure, and tag data for efficient retrieval and cross-directorate access. Implement data governance, metadata standards, and security protocols aligned with DoD requirements. Manage the document lifecycle: version control, archiving, and retrieval. Deliver training and user support to promote knowledge-sharing practices. Partner with IT and security teams to ensure compliance and usability. Support DoD-aligned knowledge transfer across directorates and mission stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (active preferred). 5+ years of experience in knowledge or information management within DoD or federal programs. Expertise with SharePoint, MS Teams, Confluence, and TopVue. Experience managing digital assets, structured repositories, and controlled information. Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Familiarity with classified data handling and security practices.
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD space programs, MILSATCOM, or SATCOM operations. Knowledge Management certifications (CKM, KMI, or equivalent). Familiarity with DoD data standards (EIA-649-1, MIL-STD-973, MIL-HDBK-61, DoD-5010-12-M, DoD-5015-2-STD). IT/database management background.
