HVAC Owner Sales Manager - Dallas, TX

What you will do

As the HVAC Owner Sales Manager, you will lead the Owner Direct/Service Sales business, driving strategies to achieve profitability, growth, and market penetration. You'll inspire and develop a high-performing sales team focused on delivering service offerings including planned service agreements, controls, mechanical retrofits, O&M, and labor and materials. You'll set the tone for a customer-centric, results-driven culture-capturing hearts and minds through adaptive communication, personal engagement, and strategic leadership.

You will represent Johnson Controls as a local leader, building long-term relationships with strategically important customers and serving as a visible presence in the community.

How you will do it

  • Lead and develop a dynamic sales team by hiring, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on adaptability, emotional intelligence, and personal connection.
  • Drive secured service sales and margin growth across all Lines of Business within the assigned geography.
  • Cultivate long-term customer relationships by tailoring communication styles to diverse personalities and business needs.
  • Increase market penetration by expanding business with existing customers and securing new accounts.
  • Analyze market trends and business performance to execute growth strategies aligned with BT&S objectives.
  • Integrate service sales with operational teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and optimized resource use.
  • Establish and manage territory account plans, assigning key and target accounts to maximize opportunity.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment across geographies and disciplines, encouraging cross-functional support.
  • Champion customer satisfaction by proactively resolving issues and allocating resources to exceed expectations.
  • Personally engage with strategically important accounts to influence opportunities and outcomes.
  • Oversee bid preparation and review processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with customer needs.
  • Ensure consistent use of company standards, processes, and tools across the sales organization.
  • Promote teaming between solutions, systems, and service operations to leverage full organizational capabilities.
  • Set aggressive individual and team goals aligned with the branch business plan, ensuring accountability and performance.
  • Execute the sales staffing plan, including recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top talent.
  • Deliver clear performance expectations, reviews, and development plans, supported by regular coaching and field engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and uphold the highest standards of business ethics.
  • Represent Johnson Controls in the local community through participation in industry and professional events.

What we look for

Required Qualifications:

  • HVAC Industry Experiencewith Minimum 3 years in a leadership role with responsibility for team development and performance.
  • Bachelor's degree OR 8-10 years of progressive sales and/or operational experience in HVAC.
  • Proven ability to connect with individuals at all levels, adapting communication styles to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in leading with authenticity, building trust, and inspiring teams through personal engagement and strategic influence.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $123,000-165,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
