Wyman-Gordon is the premier forging company for the global aerospace and energy markets. Providing a specialized service, Wyman-Gordon manufactures forged components from high grade titanium and nickel based alloys. Such components are used for jet engines, including fan disks, compressor disks, turbine disks, and shafts. We also produce titanium and steel forgings for airframes, including wing beams, wing boxes, door and window frames, as well as nacelle and landing gear components. Wyman-Gordon also extrudes steel products for use in power plants and oil and gas industry applications. Originally founded in 1883 in Worcester, MA, the Wyman-Gordon Company boasts more than 125 years of forging experience and first manufactured forgings for the aerospace industry during WWI. Recognizing the need for more expansive heavy manufacturing capabilities to support larger and more advanced aircraft designs, the Department of Defense built the forging facility now located in North Grafton, MA in 1946, equipping it initially with an 18,000 ton closed-die press. In 1953, the facility was expanded to include the 35,000 and 50,000 ton presses in what was referred to as the "Air Force Heavy Press Program". From this program's inception, Wyman-Gordon was chosen to operate the North Grafton facility due to the company's long-term experience and reputation in the industry. In 1988, Wyman-Gordon purchased the facility outright from the U.S. Government and ran it as a private company until 1999 when Wyman-Gordon was acquired by Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC)

PURPOSE:

To provide excellent supervisory leadership, efficient management and creative problem-solving, in the forge or process operations. Effectively interface with all levels of personnel throughout the North Grafton, MA facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Ensuring consistent quality standards and procedures up and down work chain.
• Drive production through the utilization of the Forge Crew or Process employees to meet all operation's metrics.
• Manufacturing analysis to reach peak efficiency.
• Manufacturing improvement/refinement review.
• Identifying new opportunities to impact business and operations goals positively.
• Manufacturing directs and coordinates forging plant operations-based policies, objectives, and programs spanning manufacturing functions.
• Manage a union workforce and hold accountable to all WG quality, safety and production procedures.
• Determines performance and product quality and has direct accountability for that performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Broad knowledge of forging, mechanical or material science engineering, finance and business administration.
• S./ B.A (engineering discipline preferred) or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in Heavy Manufacturing (Steel making, automotive or forging preferred)
• Union shop experience preferred
• Ability to work a rotational shift schedule, day and nights

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to drive production in a fast-paced stressful environment.
• Rotating shift coverage required
• Ability to manage multiple, often changing, priorities

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $60,000 to $100,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 11 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

• US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts
