Position Title: IT Technician Location: Windsor, CT primary site, Knoxville, TN Secondary Site Description: Our IT Technician supports Mativ's Global Information Technology function. The IT Technician serves as a key technical and business partner supporting both manufacturing and corporate environments across multiple locations. This role provides advanced technical support, ensures system reliability, and contributes to strategic IT initiatives that drive operational excellence. The position requires independent judgment, proactive problem-solving, and close collaboration with site leadership, Global IT Center-Led Functions, and end users to deliver efficient, secure, and scalable technology solutions. responsibilities: Technical & Operational Support
- Serve as the primary on-site technical expert for hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.Responsibilities require independent technical delivery leveraging the global IT Site Services team in a collaborative manner.
- Troubleshoot IT incidents and service requests, applying root cause analysis to develop sustainable solutions.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, mobile devices, peripherals, and approved business applications across corporate and manufacturing environments.
- Manage system performance monitoring, updates, and patching to ensure compliance with cybersecurity and operational standards.
Strategic & Project Support
- Key contributor on multi-site strategic IT initiatives such as domain migrations, system upgrades, networks, and cloud integration projects.
- Partner with IT leadership to implement technology improvements that align with business and manufacturing goals for the site.
- Provide input and feedback on enterprise-level infrastructure and security projects impacting site operations.
- Support rollout of standardized IT policies, procedures, and tools across multiple facilities.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the IT liaison to site leadership, providing technical insights that support production efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with local management and functional leaders to understand business needs and proactively identify IT solutions.
Asset & Vendor Management
- Manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including deployment, inventory tracking, and decommissioning.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and network support.
Documentation, Training & Compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of technical configurations, processes, and incident resolutions within the Service Now platform.
- Deliver end-user training to improve technology utilization and awareness of IT security best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies, data privacy regulations, and cybersecurity standards.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows OS, Active Directory, networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), Office 365, and endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, SCCM).
- Proven ability to analyze complex technical issues, make independent decisions, and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading cross-functional and enterprise-level IT projects.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MCSA, or ITIL Foundation are preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Regular on-site presence at manufacturing and office locations; travel up to 20%.
- May require occasional lifting and transport of IT equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support if needed.
- Frequent interaction with plant leadership, and corporate IT.
