This position will be responsible for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Calibration, QMS Certification Activities, etc. within the West Plains Facility. They will Support the DRS Quality mission statement: "Establish a culture of innovation within DRS Quality teams, championing the deployment of superior processes in lieu of traditional inspection activities and ensuring the delivery of continuously improving value and compliance to our customers and business units."Job Responsibilities 
    Establish a culture of innovation within the Quality organization, championing the deployment of superior processes in lieu of traditional inspection activities and ensuring the delivery of continuously improving value and compliance to customers and the business unitDirect all quality systems/operationsLead and manage a team of quality professionals, providing training guidance and support to ensure effective quality control.Manage utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectivesControl significant quality projectsMaintain authority over budget and schedulingUsually the top quality management position and may report to the top executivePerform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulationsResponsible for department compliance with all internal SOPs and external regulationsBring all compliance issues to the attention of managementDirect, monitor, and appraise the performance of staff; identify training and educational needs and initiate development of staffRecommend and/or approve all salary and staffing changesLead the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance program for the company to meet the directives of regulatory agencies and standards such as ISOMonitor the regulatory compliance of the company with respect to current regulations, any inspection findings, and adherence to the Company's QA programAdvise the VP/GM and the responsible head of the company's compliance status and system-wide implications of any findingsOversee the creation and maintenance of internal communication programs and processes to ensure both management's and company's awareness of compliance issues, activities, and federal, state and local regulatory activities that affect technical and quality complianceDevelop monitoring processes (e.g., trending and tracking of errors, inspection findings, and internal audit results) to review and analyze data to determine if modifications or additions to the current QA program are necessary and creates recommendations to ensure organizational complianceIdentify systematic problems and coordinate corrective actions, systems or process changes that will resolve problems and improve operationsDevelop measurement systems based on quality assessment tools and practices, and manage the dataCoordinate organizational efforts for AS 9100 standard compliance achievement (and other relevant standards)Institute quality management processes for the company through technical training and education programs and materialsIdentify quality programs and processes and operating systems for center implementationMonitor the Quality Plan to ensure system-wide compliance and notifies the VP/GM of any deviationsDevelop, recommend and carry out operating and capital expenditure budgets for QASupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAssist in the development and approval of the Standard Operating procedures (SOP)
Qualifications 
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical fieldA minimum of 10 years of related experienceExperience managing direct reportsExcellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skillsAbility to lead effective corrective action using disciplined problem solving methods and statistical analysisIn-depth knowledge of AS 9100 StandardsSix Sigma Black Belt certification desiredASQ certification desiredU.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
