Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit, community health care provider, governed by a community-based board of trustees. Since its founding in 1973, the original 59-bed, short-stay hospital has grown into a comprehensive acute care medical center with 226 licensed beds. We specialize in women's and children's services, surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gerontology, psychiatry, emergency services and community health education. In June 1998, Howard County General Hospital joined Johns Hopkins Medicine. In June 2023, the hospital was renamed Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center.

The OB Technician II, under supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs patient care and nursing support duties including but not limited to, scrubbing for cesarean sections, maintaining instruments and supplies and assisting with patient care. Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange relevant information. Communication with external contacts involves providing or giving factual information.

Education/Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years hands-on clinical patient care experience is required.
  • Must have completed an approved medical training program that includes phlebotomy and IV initiation.


Licensure/Certifications:



  • Nursing Assistant Certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing required
  • Current CPR certification required


Salary Range: Minimum 22.13/hour - Maximum 25.57/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
