Position Summary This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, OC Region, and the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in fostering a positive and compliant workplace environment. This position serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for conducting impartial, timely, and thorough investigations into workplace concerns, ensuring fair outcomes and adherence to organizational policies and employment laws. In addition to employee relations, this role supports the coordination and execution of special projects and events that enhance employee engagement and reinforce compliance initiatives. The Human Resources Generalist also manages key operational processes including the monthly Per Diem letter distribution, timely response to Employment Development Department (EDD) claims, and coordination of final paychecks in accordance with California Labor Laws. This position requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and analytical skill, as well as the ability to navigate sensitive issues with empathy and objectivity.
