Transit Development (TD) is responsible for developing public transit-supportive street infrastructure and policies to improve mobility for all New Yorkers. The unit manages the Better Buses initiative and transit policy initiatives and develops location-specific projects to help the quality and safety of bus operations, and to improve pedestrian access to transit. TD also serves as a resource to the agency on public transit related matters, including acting as one of the key points of contact with the MTA agencies. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. A degree in any other engineering area or in civil engineering technology is not acceptable. Preferred Skills
Candidate should have experience working on transportation or urban planning-related projects, with strong data and analytical skills should have experience with geographic data collection and analysis, particularly in the ArcGIS suite Experience with traffic analysis is highly desirable. Should be familiar with transit-oriented street design and should exhibit a capacity for problem-solving. Experience with CAD and/or graphic design software is desirable. 55a Program
