*Job Title:* Social Media Manager - Mobile Platform Community & Content *Location: Bay area* *About the Role:* *We're looking for a seasoned Social Media Manager to lead the strategy and execution of owned social channels for a fast-growing mobile platform that's redefining how people connect, create, and explore immersive digital spaces. This is a unique opportunity to shape the voice of a product at the forefront of mobile-first virtual experiences, engaging a passionate community of creators, fans, and future-forward users.* *You'll be responsible for building and scaling social strategies that resonate with a mobile-first audience, especially within the 13-24 age range. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and agency partners to deliver culturally relevant content, drive engagement, and foster a vibrant, inclusive community.* *What You'll Do:* * *Lead Social Strategy:* Own and evolve the social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms, with a strong emphasis on mobile-first storytelling and community engagement. * *Drive Platform-Specific Engagement:* Develop innovative programs tailored to each platform, designed to activate fans and spark conversation among the "metaverse intender" audience. * *Community Management & Activation:* Build and maintain best-in-class community management practices that promote safety, inclusivity, and meaningful interaction. Enforce community guidelines and foster a positive environment. * *Cross-Functional Collaboration:* Work closely with marketing, creative, production, communications, and external partners to deliver integrated content and community plans aligned with product goals. * *Agency & Partner Management:* Lead agency relationships and coordinate with customer service and internal teams to ensure high-quality content and engagement. * *Performance Analysis:* Monitor and report on social performance metrics, including reach, engagement, follower growth (especially within the 16-24 cohort), and sentiment. Use insights to refine strategy and improve outcomes. * *Budget Oversight:* Manage campaign budgets in partnership with production teams to support community initiatives. *What You'll Bring:* * 8+ years of experience managing owned social channels and/or community management for global consumer brands in tech, gaming, entertainment, or culture. * Proven success in developing and scaling fan activation strategies that drive brand growth and engagement. * Experience leading agency partners and inspiring high-quality creative output. * Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and influence strategic decisions. * Demonstrated creativity and innovation in social media strategy with measurable impact. * Deep understanding of behavioral and technology trends in social marketing, creator ecosystems, and content platforms. * Experience delivering global, culturally relevant, consumer-centric social initiatives. *Preferred Qualifications:* * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing or communications. * Background in AR/VR, gaming, entertainment, or culture-driven consumer products. * Passionate mobile gamer and active user or advocate of immersive digital platforms. *Bonus Points:* * Portfolio or sample work showcasing YouTube and Threads channel strategies. Threads experience is optional but appreciated. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
