The Pavilion : is a private behavioral health hospital specializing in mental health care and chemical dependency. The Pavilion Hospital looking for a highly motivated Per Diem (as needed) Inpatient Medical Coder to be a part of our exceptional multi-disciplinary team! Job Description: Per Diem Inpatient Coder The Inpatient Coder participates as an integral member of the records management team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and JCAHO standards for the quality of patient care. The Inpatient Coder- has the primary responsibility of assigning accurate ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM codes upon patient discharge (inpatient and outpatient). The Inpatient Coder communicates with physicians for any related coding questions. The inpatient coder must possess the interpersonal skills and effective communications necessary to interact with all levels of department personnel and other departments. Must be able to use standard office equipment and information systems. Must possess the ability to prioritize and shift workloads to ensure departmental goals for revenue cycle goals. Skills in organizing and prioritizing workloads helpful. Please note this is not a remote coding position.
