Position Summary: The Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring all youth information enrolled in COMPASS/SONYC programs is entered daily, timely, accurately and reviewed on a frequency determined by the Community School Director. The Data Clerk will assist the Community School team by providing weekly and monthly updates of enrollment and rate of participant (ROP) status for all COMPASS/SONYC programs.

Essential Duties:



  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for entering participant data, including attendance in DYCD Connect for COMPASS and SONYC programs.
  • Support staff with the Community School Information System (CSIS).
  • Identify and resolve any data issues resulting with missing student and service information.
  • Assist with program scheduling, student enrollment, activity input and attendance.
  • Ensure integrity of data, verifying information regarding data quality and data completeness.
  • Produce data reports as requested by administration and program staff using MS Excel and CSIS to protect student information as well as generate specific student level reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with Office of Performance Management to address inquiries regarding information sharing and trouble shoot data system glitches.
  • Provides technical support to the robotics, literacy and math computer programs during afterschool hours.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data systems, standards and procedures for reporting purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • H.S. Graduate, AA Degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years' experience working with after school programs, data collection and/or contract processes.


Key Competencies:



  • Knowledge of MS Excel, reporting systems that interface with DYCD/COMPASS programs.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee and client information.
