Your Job

Consumer Device Integration (CDI), a business unit of Molex LLC, develops innovative electronic modules and manufacturing processes around automotive in-vehicle networking and infotainment segments. We are seeking an experienced engineer to work on site at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren (3 days min. per week) to launch new product and support through the full product lifecycle. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, use advanced CAD tools, apply root-cause analysis, and lead technical reviews to solve complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

  • Represent Customer's interests and position on program issues; Help OEM understand Molex's constraints and strengths, while ensuring Molex understands the OEM's priorities and needs.
  • Manage Customer's programs and system requirements
  • Coordinate/lead/participate in Customer engineering meetings and internal team meetings associated with Customer projects and represent Molex at Customer meetings including VAPIR, CAB, SSR, VAPIT and Program Team meetings
  • Work closely with Customer testing team, efficiently plan and negotiate required electrical and environmental testing requirements
  • Prepare and issue PDT/ Customer meeting minutes; prepare and present timely responses to action items
  • Work with Customers plants to ensure program PTR, breakpoints and launch are achieved per plan
  • Create Customer documentation, including 3660, Saleable Action Plans, AAR, PPAP, VCD and 5-Phases
  • Assist in the creation and review of project timelines and recommend actions to ensure Customer deliverables are met per awarded timeline
  • Assist Customer to define system requirements; resolve system issues; work with respective "owners"; initiate change requests
  • Participate in FMEA process; recommend additional development and testing activities as necessary
  • Coordinate and participate in engineering studies and experiments at the Customer's assembly plants
  • Support troubleshooting activities associated with validation testing failures and warranty return. Engage internal owners and drive to resolution. Encourage open dialogue and joint problem-solving between supplier and customer teams.
  • Support engineering proposals for simplified validation testing based on engineering simulations and analyses

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of engineering experience
  • 3+ years relevant engineering (mechanical or electrical or related) experience at OEM or Tier supplier
  • Ability to travel to customer facilities and other Molex facilities, including some international travel.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Prior experience with GM's engineering systems (i.e. ECR/ECM, Team center, SPES, etc)
  • Prior work experience with GM in an engineering role (i.e. Resident Engineer or Design Release Engineer)
  • Understanding of vehicle connection systems and architecture
  • Experience and knowledge in manufacturing processes and product development
  • Troubleshooting skills including measurements analysis
  • Knowledge of electronic module testing and basic mechanics of material/geometry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (clear and concise communication of technical information)
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills (work well in a team; manage multiple projects)
