Lee Health is looking for alocal Southwest Floridacandidate for aCall Center-based Insurance Services Specialistrole. This is a non-patient-facing position, focused on completing insurance verifications, authorizations, and financial screenings over the phone to ensure timely reimbursement for services across our health system.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls
Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations
Perform financial screenings using Epic and other systems
Review and interpret insurance and medical documentation
Understand and apply relevant medical terminology for authorization processes

What Were Looking For:

Must live inSouthwest Florida (SWFL) this is anon-siteposition
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Clerical or healthcare insurance experience (required)
Experience with Epic EMR (preferred)
Strong phone communication, computer, and analytical skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced setting

As the first point of access for Lee Health patients, this position completes and assists with Insurance Verification, authorizations, and financial screening to secure maximum reimbursement for the Lee Health System. It also requires excellent verbal, analytical and customer service skills due to the varying methods of continuous communication that occurs telephonically. Requires extensive computer knowledge and analytical experience to navigate and interpret the information provided by a multitude of entities. Requires prioritization, detail orientation, organized, flexible while working within high volume work queues. This job requires the ability to understand medical terminology pertinent to obtaining the authorizations needed for services.
