POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic design team. As a member of the team, you will design, create, and implement web-based applications by interpreting briefs and delivering high-quality code that aligns with project objectives. This role requires an individual who is organized, resilient, and fosters a positive, collaborative environment with an approachable demeanor. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience and the ability to obtain a DHS/CBP clearance.

Location: Northern VA / Remote
Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 Equivalent Clearance issued by CBP. US citizenship is required to meet this requirement.
Position Type: Full-Time

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and Design
    • Design, develop, test, and debug complex new software products or make impactful changes to existing ones.
    • Collaborate with product management to analyze and clarify requirements.
  • Leadership and Coordination
    • Provide leadership to technical resources to meet project deadlines and objectives efficiently.
    • Advocate consistency in coding standards and practices across the team.
  • Quality Assurance and Delivery
    • Ensure that code artifacts produced are of the highest quality and conform to established standards.
    • Provide realistic and accurate estimates, continuously improving team productivity to meet deadlines.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving
    • Escalate and communicate issues, risks, and concerns to management promptly.
    • Accept accountability for project delivery responsibilities.
  • Skill Building
    • Build competencies in the product and technology domains to meet expectations.
    • Maintain individuality in thinking and decision-making.

Required Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong experience in React/NextJS, Typescript with preference given to candidate with experience in Electron and JavaScript.
    • Expertise in developing Web Services (SOAP, REST).
    • Expertise in SQL and relational databases like Oracle, Postgres and MongoDBs.
    • Expertise in using Visual Studio Code or RAD development environments.
    • Proficiency in Sequelize, and JUnit (TFD/TDD).
    • Proficiency in development tools like Visual Studio Code, PGAdmin and MongoDB Compass.
    • Skilled in multi-tier application design and development.
    • Foundational knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
    • Proficiency with RAD/Visual Studio, and Windows Desktop OS.
  • Clearance Requirements:
    • Ability to obtain DHS/CBP clearance is mandatory.
    • Current DHS/CBP clearance holders are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of design patterns such as MVC and Facade.
    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum tools like VersionOne.

TRAVEL
A candidate is required to come to the office (Ashburn, VA at least 3 days in a week).

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing, walking, sitting, hand use, occasional lifting, reaching, and carrying.
  • Moderate noise level, with occasional outside work subject to temperature fluctuations.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of phones or other forms of business communication.
