JOB TITLE: TECHNICIAN (MAINTENANCE)

REPORTS TO: Engineering Services Manager

REQUIREMENT: PREVIOUS MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

MINIMUM ONE YEAR OF MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE OR

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE WITH TOOLS

PURPOSE: RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform maintenance on loom which entails handling machine parts, air lines, valves and other small mechanical parts. Repair Piconal weave machinery by diagnosing faults and using tools to correct mechanical failures. Identifies and gets cloth and machine defects corrected. Required to weave and perform on loom inspections. .

Basic written and oral communication skills
Must submit to and pass drug screening and pre-hire tests
Must pass test for color blindness

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Technician .

The skill involves diagnostic and maintenance applications to resolve loom stops and return machines to production.

The work environment consists of weave machines producing polyester and cotton.

Lint and fiber debris may be present in the air.

Ability to have regular attendance at work.

Works a 12- hour rotating shift schedule.

Safety of person and others are a concern in this position

Standing:	Must have the ability to stand up for up to 10 hours/day patrolling assigned area looking for machines that have stopped or to perform air maintenance on loom.	92% of day
Sitting:	Must be able to sit through an hour-long communications/safety meeting.	8% of day
Climbing	Must be able to step up and down off weaving platform which is 5" off the ground to repair machines and start them up.	20% of day
Reaching/Lifting:	Must be able to reach 48" to grasp parts on machines weighing up to 25 pounds daily. Reach 48" to grasp ends to repair them. Must be able to use hands to maneuver tools appropriate to fix mechanical parts of loom. Must be able to handle parts that are dirty and handle oiling parts of looms. Must be able to lift machine parts weighing up to 25 pounds.	75% of day
Reaching/Pulling:	Must be able to reach 48" to grasp parts on machines weighing up to 25 pounds daily. Reach 48" to grasp ends to repair them. Must be able to use hands to maneuver tools appropriate to fix mechanical parts of loom. Must be able to handle parts that are dirty and handle oiling parts of looms.	75% of day
Bending/Stooping:	Must be able to bend and stoop to repair weaving machine.	20% of day
Walking	Must be able to move over a 335,000 square foot weaving facility to get to supplies and equipment to perform elements of job.	15% of day
Pushing	Must have the ability to push a tool box weighing approximately 400 lbs. and carry tool bag to loom.	30% of day
Visual Acuity:	Normal vision is required. (Must be able to distinguish color.)	% of day
Environment:	Ability to work in cotton dust environment. Meet cotton pulmonary function requirements	% of day
Environment:	Ability to work in high noise production environment and wear approved ear protection. This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This role regularly works around moving mechanical parts and material handling equipment. Must be able to move around a 335,000 sq. ft. weaving facility with concrete floors to get to supplies, equipment, and to perform elements of job	90% of day
Environment:	Ability to follow defined break schedule.	90% of day
