Position Summary The incumbent provides technical consulting services to the clients, which may include: crisis management and recall assistance; spoilage investigations; environmental monitoring program development and maintenance; standard sanitation programs and SOP development and maintenance; development of statistically-based sampling plans; program development and reviews of food safety plans; quality program development and assessments; FSMA assessments; prerequisite program reviews and development; and Intentional Adulteration program development and assessment. This position is also responsible for developing technical content for marketing and training programs along with relationship building in the Food Industry to promote services of the Expert Partners Department
YOUR PROFILE
Qualifications Required
This position requires an advanced knowledge of food microbiology or food chemistry possibly obtained from a Ph.D. in food microbiology or chemistry or from an M.S. degree with equivalent experience, to provide technical guidance and expertise to client and the Company. A thorough knowledge of food science is necessary to apply knowledge while consulting with clients and to provide them with practical solutions to their problems. A thorough knowledge of food safety and quality, including HACCP, Sanitation (SSOP's), Allergens, GMP's, SOP's, Environmental Monitoring Programs, SPC, etc. to provide knowledgeable solutions to the clients. Strong regulatory knowledge on FDA, USDA, FSIS, CDC. Strong analytical skills to create a root cause analysis and solve problems with client issues. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across company functions. Well-developed oral and written communication skills are essential for effective client and inter-company interactions. A general knowledge of the Laboratory Information Management System is required to verify and produce client data. Client relation skills to provide consulting services to the client. Strong management skills, obtained from previous supervisory experience, are necessary to ensure that sub-contractors perform effectively. Planning skills are essential to plan, implement, and maintain system changes for clients. A basic knowledge of operating personal computers is necessary to produce clients' reports. No direct reports but will need to provide secondary support to other colleagues when applicable, including sub-contractors when needed and Manager projects with temporary reports as needed.
Qualifications Desired
Specific expertise, training and certification(s) in Specialized Food Safety Systems and GFSI schemes like HACCP , PCQI , SQF , BRCGS. FSSC 22000 and similar global standards Advanced Regulatory and Crisis Experience.
Direct experience managing a major food safety crisis or recall (Class I) from a corporate or regulatory perspective. Demonstrated proficiency with international food safety regulations (e.g., CFIA for Canada, EU regulations, Mexico ) to align with the "Region" scope.
Business and Management Acumen
Proven sales or business development success in a technical consulting environment, demonstrated by meeting or exceeding annual revenue goals, as a team and as an individual. Prior experience in developing and delivering professional training programs to executive or senior-level client teams. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or demonstrated experience managing complex, long-term technical projects.
Consulting and Communication Excellence
Exceptional ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, actionable, and financially sound business strategies for clients. Strong track record of building and maintaining executive-level client relationships and securing repeat business. Fluency in a second relevant language (e.g., Spanish or French) is beneficial for an international company and the regional scope.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Direct activities involved with providing guidance and technical expertise to clients and solving their technical problems and issues relating to crisis management, spoilage and recall assistance, assessments, FSMA related programs, sanitation, spoilage investigations, environmental monitoring programs, development of statistically-based sampling plan, program development and reviews. Position requires individual analysis of each problem to determine the optimal solution. The incumbent uses previous experience, federal (FDA, USDA, and APHA) publications, field texts, and current journal articles as resources to provide necessary information to solve a problem. Client problems are often unique and require the incumbent to select among several different alternatives to meet or exceed their requirements and address their concerns. The incumbent ensures that the business unit is profitable and will have individual annual revenue goals. Provide secondary support to other personnel when applicable including sub-contractors when needed. Direct client in the interpretation of laboratory data and provide consulting services if needed. Direct and implement appropriate research and special projects within the business unit. Make recommendations to corporate research management as to which projects are conducted within the business unit and which projects corporate research personnel conduct. Develop and maintain expertise in food science and related technologies through available scientific literature and by contributing to scientific publications and presentations. Direct developing technical content for marketing and training programs along with relationship building in the Food Industry to promote services of the Technical Services Department. Conduct customer Training as needed and per qualifications Other related duties as assigned. At any time, the incumbent must behave and operate in an ethical and Code of Conduct compliant manner.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Frequently required to sit for extended periods, stand, and walk during site visits or presentations. Regularly required to use hands to type, handle documents, and operate office equipment. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for reviewing documents and computer work.
Travel
Frequent travel is required to client sites for audits, consultations, and training sessions. Up to 75% travel may be necessary, including overnight and international trips.
Must be able to travel on short notice and work extended hours while on site. Compensation Package Overview:
Compensation Range $95,000 - $100,000 annual salary USD Potential bonus: Up to 10% based on performance.
