The Higher Education Regional Director of Public Sector Sales will lead, motivate, and manage a regional team of high performing sales account executives. The ideal candidate will have sales leadership experience in the IT industry, as well as the Public Sector space (specifically Higher Education); and the ability to articulate a thorough understanding of the education market. She/he will be responsible for developing and executing an aggressive customer acquisition campaign, as well as retaining our current base of higher education customers across a defined region of the US.

The chosen candidate will need to demonstrate her/his ability to align new product and service offerings to the business and technology needs of the higher education market. She/he will also be responsible for expanding relationships within customers and our large business partners. She/he will implement our public strategy for selling Lenovo's portfolio of hardware, software and services into the public market.

We are looking for an exceptional leader and coach with strong sales operations skills and the ability to form and develop high-level relationships with all levels of the Higher Education organizations and our partner community. Must be seen as a leader in the industry to make an immediate impact in the organization.


Requirements:

  • 15+ year proven track record in Public Sector/Education sales is required
  • 5+ years of relevant Public Sector management of sales professionals is required

Prefered

  • Strong knowledge and established relationships within education entities and channel partners focused on Higher Education
  • PC/Technology industry background is required
  • Must have the ability to quickly develop organization agility and leverage extended teams.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills, demonstrated team building, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple complex sales engagements concurrently.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Public Sector business practices including relevant contracts, procurement processes, and requirements necessary when selling to this highly regulated market.

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $190,000 - $225,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo's various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com.
