TRC is seeking an experienced Senior Permitting Project Manager to join our Environmental & Infrastructure team within the Southeastern Region (reporting to TRC's Charlotte, North Carolina Office, with potential to work from a nearby location or adjacent state).

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is a front-line client-focused leader working with stakeholders to understand project needs and to manage teams to deliver services to meet those requirements. They would also be involved in development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of key permitting programs to support quality and strategic growth plans.

Responsibilities

Our Senior Project Managers:

  • Provide expertise in managing and driving the full spectrum of consulting services required throughout the project life cycle of oil and gas, transportation, and energy projects.
  • Manage projects, leading teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
    • Provide technical leadership, coordinate project workflows, manage financial performance and contribute to reporting.
  • Develop proposals resulting in the award of new work.
  • Engage with internal and external service providers to develop scope, budget and schedule using platforms, tools and approaches previously approved.
  • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables related to projects and tasks at all levels. Responsible for implementation of quality procedures at project and task levels.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, reports, costing templates, project lists, staff biographies, and other deliverables as needed.
  • Work with various teams and practice areas within TRC collaboratively on large-scale projects.
  • Support the development of new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Participate in key trade organizations and conferences in the marketplace.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of projects including (but not limited to) oil and gas, transportation, and energy sector clients.
  • Applicants must have experience permitting projects at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to effectively coordinate fieldwork, direct and support other technical staff, interact with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors, and manage budgets, invoicing and schedules.
  • The successful candidate may have some level of staff management responsibilities and work closely with the existing management to grow the TRC team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in biology or a related field (i.e., ecology, wildlife biology, aquatic biology, botany, zoology, environmental science, natural resources management).
  • Minimum 10 years of environmental consulting experience
  • The ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials
  • Strong entrepreneurial interest and experience engaging clients to identify, win and manage projects
  • Experience leading, recruiting, building, mentoring, and fostering a project team of environmental scientists, permitting specialists, and planners
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience conveying technical presentations

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the basic qualifications listed above, the below qualifications are highly desired but not required:

  • Permitting experience in the surrounding region, including North Carolina, South Carolina, and surrounding states.
  • Renewable energy project development experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of development, design, permitting, and/or construction of electric generation facilities or transmission projects.
  • Experience working with State DOTs.
  • Experience with Federal requirements under NEPA and/or FERC.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
