Position Description

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the successful operation of the coating facility following the established safety practices, quality procedures, meeting customer delivery requirements and managing operating costs.

Oversee daily operations of the coating facility, ensuring safety, quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency. Lead a team of 20-30 employees on assigned shift, reporting directly to the Production Manager.

This position is on 2nd shift - 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop staff; conduct evaluations, resolve conflicts, and promote employee engagement.
  • Communication: Collaborate with Shift Leaders and Quality staff; provide daily production updates and delivery projections.

Safety

  • Foster a safety-first culture through behavioral based coaching and mentorship

Quality

  • Reinforce quality standards and ensure in-process inspections are completed
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders per instructions
  • Troubleshoot production issues to avoid delays

Delivery

  • Oversee shift operations including receiving, inspection, coating, crating, and shipping
  • Collaborate with Operation Leads and quality staff to meet daily production targets
  • Adjust production schedules to prioritize urgent orders and maintain workflow
  • Provide hands-on support during production as needed
  • Communicate clearly with Customer Service on daily production and scheduling

Cost

  • Optimize labor usage and reduce waste
  • Evaluate team members, recognize performance, and manage corrective actions
  • Coach employees to meet performance expectations and support their development
  • Encourage open communication and team involvement in process improvements
  • Advise the Production Manager on resource needs and operational improvements
Required Education & Qualifications
  • 3+ years in a supervisory role within manufacturing
  • Proficient in order processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling software, and ERP
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs occasionally)

Work Schedule:

Rotating shifts:

  • 1st: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm
  • 2nd: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm
  • 3rd: 10:00 pm - 6:00 am
  • Overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must be available for any shift
