This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Cisco network, Checkpoint firewalls, F5 Big IP load balancers, and Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE). Activities include updating and monitoring firewalls, installation and maintenance of switches, security and vulnerability management of the network equipment, and response to both service and cyber security incidents. Interfaces with network engineers, security team, and other infrastructure disciplines daily.

I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Performs platform-specific technical tasks including upgrades, installation, and configuration and installation of patches and fixes to minimize risk and service disruptions.
2. Performs day to day engineering and operations tasks on Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) and Access Control System (ACS) to include installation, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting.
3. Helps in the prevention and remediation of cyber security attacks.
4. Resolves availability, capacity, and performance issues.
5. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
6. Participate in risk assessments of various requests.
7. Works with engineers to ensure security compliance. Scripts and automates various tasks related to network and security support.
8. Performs problem analysis and documentation, root-cause analysis, and create incident reports.
9. Performs detailed troubleshooting for complex operational issues.
10. Work with the team to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
11. Performs tasks relating to business continuity products, including patching, health checks, audit review and repair, configuration modifications.
12. Ensure service performance meets or exceeds business expectations and is delivered in accordance with SLAs.
13. Performs hands-on work to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the network hardware, software, and other components required for connectivity.
14. Perform hands-on work to maintain products, services, protocols, and standards that meet network industry standards.
15. Perform new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Execute the design concepts, implementation plans, device setup and configuration settings, and maintenance plans. Performs troubleshooting.
16. Stays up to date on network specific skills and practices.
17. Supports users by a variety of methods, providing technical expertise to users and/or written means.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related field.
Preferred:
1. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
2. Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)
3. F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)

Experience/Skills:

Required:
1. Minimum five (5) years of related network engineering and security experience.
2. Must have experience with HSRP, 802.1Q, Spanning Tree, IP subnetting, IP routing including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.
3. Design and deploy datacenter network, storage, and compute.
4. Experience in logical design models (L2/L3, vPC, vPC+, VDC, FEX, datacenter zones, OTV, fabric path, spanning tree, port channels, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling).
5. Experience designing and troubleshooting of GLBP, HSRP and VRRP.
6. Experience designing and troubleshooting of AAA, ACLs, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, IP source guard, port security, TrustSec
7. Working technical knowledge of network control protocols (QOS, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, IPSec).
8. Strong knowledge IP communication and routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
9. Understanding of WAN/LAN and transport technologies (Ethernet and MPLS).
10. Excellent hands-on technical knowledge of network equipment, including routers and switches.
11. Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and internet standards and the ability to conduct research into networking issues and products with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
12. Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate in a high-pressure environment with strong customer service orientation and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
13. Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and wireless controllers.

Preferred:
1.Experience with F5 Big IP load balancers.
2.Experience with Cisco Stealth Watch.
3.Experience with Checkpoint firewalls.
4.Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls.
5.Experience with Cisco Identity Service Engine.

6. This position is required to participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
