Job Overview

Hubbell Electrical Solutions (HES) Incorporated is seeking a strategic and results-driven Sr. Director of Materials & Supply Chain to join our leadership team. This role will lead the planning, inventory management, delivery, and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) functions.


The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming our supply chain organization to better meet evolving customer expectations. They will bring deep expertise in supply chain optimization, materials management, and vendor/distributor relations, and will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives that enhance agility, responsiveness, and operational efficiency across the segment.


The Sr. Director of Materials and Supply Chain will report into the Vice President of Segment Operations for HES and will lead the Materials Management strategy. The chosen candidate must be based in a HES location, preferably, Shelton, CT; Manchester, NH; Fenton, MO; or Hamilton, OH.

A Day In The Life

Every day at HES is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:



  • Lead and manage end-to-end supply chain initiatives including planning, procurement, inventory management and factory related warehousing.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Materials and inventory management optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, strengthen strategic partnerships, and continuously improve supply chain processes and performance.
  • Oversee the integration and standardization of Operations IT systems to support continuous improvement in materials management and supply chain processes, ensuring data consistency, process efficiency, and scalable business operations.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to ensure supply chain alignment to support overall business strategy.
  • Monitor and analyze current global market trends and supply chain performance to forecast future needs and plan accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing supply chain operations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of materials and supply chain professionals.
  • Travel responsibility up to 60%.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in factory materials management optimization and implementing strategic initiatives that have resulted in measurable business improvements.
  • Proven experience in supply chain optimization and implementing strategic initiatives that have resulted in measurable business improvements.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Proven experience as an effective coach/mentor with cascading impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MRP and supply chain management software and comfortable with integrating new technologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
