Summary of position/daily activities:

AEM is seeking a Senior Financial Data Analyst. The Senior Financial Data Analyst will provide federal financial data expertise to support data integration activities for Federal clients, ensuring accurate integration and reporting of financial data from systems such as Momentum and Treasury's Administrative Resources Center (ARC). This role plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal financial reporting standards, financial transparency, and supporting audit readiness. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in federal financial systems (including general ledger accounting) and financial data standards, and will work closely with data engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to define requirements, validate data pipelines, and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Key duties include:


  • Analyze and document financial data flows between client systems and external systems,
  • Collaborate with data engineers and product owners to define financial data requirements.
  • Validate integration of financial data by reviewing detailed datasets and reports.
  • Support testing and quality assurance of financial data pipelines.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on general ledger structure, financial operations, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal financial reporting standards and audit requirements.
  • Translate complex financial data concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project documentation, process improvement, and knowledge sharing across teams.


Basic qualifications/experience (the required qualifications which are critical to be considered for the position:


  • Minimum of five year's experience with federal financial systems, including Momentum, Oracle Federal Financials, or Department of Treasury's ARC shared services.
  • Strong understanding of federal general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with federal financial data standards and audit practices.
  • Proficiency in analyzing structured financial datasets and reports using MS Excel and/or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with federal financial systems (e.g., Momentum, Oracle) is essential.


Ability to communicate financial concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired skills/certifications (any additional skills desired but not required to be considered for the position):


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration are preferred.
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or CPA preferred.
  • Consulting experience and client-facing experience is preferred.
  • Current government security or public trust clearance (preferred)
