| Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Online Student Specialist consults with university partners on effective student records and registration administration for Online Accelerated Programs at
UNCW. The role serves as the primary liaison and decision maker in the Office of the Registrar for
OAP issues across the university. This position provides data reporting and assessment for partners; interprets and applies relevant policies and modifies processes in response to
OAP-specific situations; articulates and posts standard and non-standard transfer credit for
OAP students; manages
OAP academic calendar; maintains the accuracy of degree audits, including applying degree exceptions to student records. The Online Student Specialist assures timely processing of graduation checks and degree posting for
OAP students as well as contributes to the mission and overall goals of the Office of the Registrar. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

| Preferred education, professional skills and experience |
College graduate or significant previous higher education work experience in a related area. Demonstration of initiative, independent problem resolution, and adaptability to new and non-standard challenges. Previous higher education work experience and familiarity with bachelor-degree design and requirements. Previous work with admissions, academic advising, project management, or systems support is valued. Familiarity with online education, bachelor's and master's degree design, and requirements is valued. Understanding of transfer policies and articulation practices, knowledge of university and program curriculum and degree requirements, ability to manage multiple event timelines and deadlines, and highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings, to support student and program needs. |
