Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Instructional Technology Specialist (Learning and Development Supervisor) for the Institute for Families. This position reports to the Manager of Learning & Development.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides oversight to team members responsible for the design and development of engaging learning experiences - including courses, modules, and supplemental materials using a variety of innovative instructional technologies.
- Handles the creation of content for synchronous classes, hybrid/blended learning experiences, interactive asynchronous e-learning, micro-learning, videos, webinars, screencasts, job aides, simulations, and resource materials.
- Oversees a professional staff of full-time instructional designers and may provide directions to consultants, part-time staff and/or student assistants.
- Guides how learning and development professionals utilize the ADDIE model for development and adhere to identified instructional design processes and templates.
- Builds responsive relationships with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Upholds the quality of the targeted learning experience by providing oversight, analysis, and innovation in products created by IFF.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in instructional design, curriculum development, instructional technology, communication, or a related educational field, and at least five (5) years of related experience (with five years of supervisory experience) ; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- In-depth knowledge of learning and instructional theories and their applications, as well as emerging technologies, including in e-Learning rapid authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 and Adobe Captivate or similar instructional technology.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with staff from diverse perspectives and professional lenses to collaborate for the creation of learning products.

- Ability to develop learning objects that are compatible with the specifications of learning management systems and to troubleshoot issues in compatibility.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a nontechnical audience, and establish cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and SMEs.

- Regular use of a computer and expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Experience with various AV, recording equipment, and multimedia editing tools such as Camtasia, Audacity, Vyond, Power Director, etc.
