DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Cancer Center Infusion leadership, the Infusion Scheduling Coordinator will schedule appointments for Infusion, Fast Track and Laboratory in all infusion departments and areas. As part of this role, they will update and ensure accurate patient demographics, disposition appointments, and collaborate with the Authorization team.

This position will work closely with physicians, nurses, staff and other UCSD departments and staff. The Infusion Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for typical duties including excellent customer service, answering multi-line incoming calls, scheduling appointments, confirming authorization for scheduled services, managing scheduling work queues, managing Epic messages, and returning calls from messages left on the schedulers direct line, on a daily basis. Other duties are assigned as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years of previous related experience working in a large healthcare organization.

  • Patient scheduling experience.

  • Experience with patient check-in/check-out and cash handling.

  • Proven experience with insurance and authorization.

  • Customer service experience in a large healthcare organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask.

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Infusion scheduling experience.

  • Experience working in Oncology or any cancer-related clinic setting.

  • Previous call center experience.

  • Epic trained.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • This position schedules infusion treatment for Encinitas, Vista and Rancho Bernardo Infusion Center.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
