The Opportunity

The Public Relations Manager is an experienced communication leader who oversees the day-to-day implementation of Ulteig's corporate thought leadership and public relations plans, including executive visibility, corporate awards, media relations and social media engagement. The PR Manager will work collaboratively with the Senior Manager - Corporate Communications, broader corporate communications team, marketing team, cross-functional leaders and agency partners to lead and advance this work.

The PR Manager is responsible for proactive storytelling and expert positioning through earned and owned channels. This includes executing and elevating Ulteig's thought leadership and company awards strategy, managing media relations opportunities and requests, and external planning and support for business milestones, news and organizational storytelling. The ideal candidate:



  • Possesses strong writing and editing skills for a variety of content styles, including short and long form bylines, speakers notes for presentations, and social media
  • Demonstrates competency in media relations, including relationship-building, strategic thinking and creativity
  • Works effectively across a wide range of communication channels
  • Is a passionate storyteller who understands the importance of tone
  • Excels at working collaboratively with leaders, as well as actively cultivating collaborative relationships with colleagues, the media and other influencers
  • Is comfortable working independently and with cross-company, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality work


What You'll Do

External Communications and Thought Leadership



  • Develop and execute external communication strategies and seek out opportunities that support Ulteig's corporate strategy, growth and goals
  • Elevate Ulteig's visibility and credibility by advancing its thought leadership platform through strategic content, speaker opportunities and industry engagement
  • Manage Ulteig's media relations strategies including developing and maintaining relationships with priority media outlets and monitoring industry trends to identify and advance opportunities
  • Develop compelling narrative and content campaigns that showcase Ulteig's expertise through owned external channels
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to enhance Ulteig's credibility and deepen trust with key stakeholders across multiple channels including conferences, events and traditional and digital media
  • Create dynamic social media and digital content to promote Ulteig news and opportunities
  • Assess earned media and thought leadership opportunities for strategic relevance and value to the business and its goals
  • Provide thought leadership coaching and support to Ulteig employees to maximize potential earned media and social engagement opportunities
  • Collaborate with agency partners, marketing, brand and business teams to ensure a consistent, integrated approach to voice, tone and channels
  • Serve as a key player on the crisis response team, when needed
  • Set and assess success of communications and programs through key metrics, including media coverage tracking and campaign results
  • Provide support to internal communications initiatives, as needed


What We Expect from You



  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or related area
  • 6+ years of experience in the areas of corporate communication, public relations and/or marketing communications
  • Proven success building and activating external communication strategies grounded in business goals and priorities
  • Experience leading and executing high value thought leadership and earned media strategies
  • Understanding of integrated communication and experience using both traditional and digital channels
  • Able to work successfully with leadership at all levels of the organization, including ability to consult and provide feedback
  • Excellent communication skills including writing, speaking and listening
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and able to complete complex projects on-time, on-target and within budget
  • Flexibility to address any media-related events that take place outside of standard business hours
  • This is an individual contributor role. While leadership and collaboration are key, this position currently does not include direct people management responsibilities

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $91,100 - $123,200
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
