The Technical Project Manager supports the UC Davis Health Infrastructure Division by leading and managing work performed by IT, infrastructure, clinical and internal stakeholders. This role will lead discovery meetings, document workflows, gather project requirements, create charters, develop detailed project plans, and lead implementation processes including status tracking, change control, issue resolution and documentation. The successful candidate will be an experienced technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the field of Information Technology and infrastructure systems and will possess a demonstrated expertise in project management. They will ensure projects are delivered on time, with the highest of quality, and require minimal direction. They must be able to apply advanced technical project management frameworks and methods to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. They must be highly organized, work well with ambiguity, and are required to consistently project a positive and professional attitude. They are experienced in managing time effectively while balancing multiple tasks and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience.
- Five Years leading IT Infrastructure projects in a healthcare-related field, including a broad experience with infrastructure, clinical and operational applications.
- Experience managing project lifecycles including initiation, development, testing, deployment, and transition planning.
- Experience leading multiple, complex projects in a matrixed organization.
- Experienced in facilitating multi-disciplined workgroups to develop solutions to problems and/or gather consensus.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing project artifacts including project plans, issue logs, testing and communication plans.
- Effective verbal and written skills and proficient in clearly communicating at all levels within an organization.
- Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.
- Advanced skills in assembling and directing large project teams, developing detailed project plans and schedules and monitoring budget and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to function in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, and continually changing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications including Visio, Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience scheduling complex meetings to include coordination of schedules, planning locations, use of MS Teams, WebEx or Zoom.
- On occasion, work outside traditional business hours to meet critical needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Six Sigma certifications preferred.
- Ten years of Project Management experience preferred.
- Academic institution or large integrated health system experience preferred.
- Experience leading projects with vendors, contractors, and consultants preferred.
- Experience working in a large health care system and familiar with clinical and operational applications
- Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow, and working knowledge of ServiceNow PPM.
- Knowledge of system interfaces.
- Experience with integrated multi-vendor applications, including Epic and other clinical applications.

Department Overview
Infrastructure Central Business Services (ICBS) supports UC Davis Health's IT Infrastructure by providing centralized services that promote operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and strategic alignment. The team manages planning and implementation activities across project and portfolio management, asset management, and procurement. ICBS provides leadership and support in areas such as budget oversight, contractor coordination, and purchase requisition processing. These efforts ensure that IT Infrastructure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with institutional priorities.
Department Specific Job Scope
Managing projects requiring a deep understanding of IT infrastructure. Projects typically involve partnership with Epic and other clinical applications and teams.
