What You Can Expect Working in the Machine Operator Position

This Machine Operator I will operate one or more of the various production machines. Machines operated may include drills, saws, press brakes, punches, shears, hi-definition, and CNC plasma, etc. As a Machine Operator I, you may also assemble components and perform other duties as assigned. As a Machine Operator, you are integral in supporting RedGuard Diversified Structures' goal of delivering customers a quality product on time.

Responsibilities
  • Manages and operates production equipmentwhilemonitoring the performance of the machine and carrying out operations in propersequence.
  • Assembles fixtures, mounts parts in fixtures/components, and performs mechanical assemblyusing hand and air tools (wrenches, torque wrenches,impact wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.).
  • Maintains inventory and routing of partsand maintains production records.
  • Follows established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area and environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ months of previous machine operations experience with Shears, Press-Brakes, CNC Plasma, Bandsaws, etc.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications.
  • Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure, squares, and other tools specific to the job task.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading blueprints; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • The worker is exposed to adverse environmental conditions, such as hot and cold climates, dusty, and noisy areas.
  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
