GENERAL SUMMARY: Hybrid position -3 days in office required
- Supports collaborative innovation initiatives between Henry Ford Health, Michigan State University (MSU), Michigan State University Research Foundation (MSURF) and the startup ecosystem through the Henry Ford + MSU Innovation Hub.
- This role coordinates early-stage innovation projects, fosters eco-system collaborations, and assists portfolio analysis of the Henry Ford + MSU Innovation Fund to advance healthcare technologies.
- Responsibilities include conducting all aspects of project management with early-stage companies, hosting pitch events, tracking startup intake data, and supporting HFIs broader innovation efforts.
- Working closely with Henry Ford Health and MSU stakeholders, the Innovation Portfolio Associate drives projects aligned with Henry Ford Innovation's mission to transform healthcare.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, information technology, or a related field.
- One to three (1-3) years of experience in project coordination, innovation, healthcare, consulting, or startup-related roles, with demonstrated ability to manage tasks and collaborate with diverse teams (academic and part time experience acceptable).
- Experience in healthcare innovation, consulting, startup evaluation, or academic-industry partnerships strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of investment processes, portfolio tracking, or performance metrics preferred.
- Familiarity with coordinating events or managing stakeholder engagement in innovation settings preferred.
- Proficiency in project management tools, such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, and Excel, for organizing data, tracking progress, and reporting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with clinicians, faculty, and management at all levels.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to support multiple projects, engage stakeholders (e.g., Henry Ford Health clinicians, MSU researchers, startups), and manage data accurately.
- Familiarity with healthcare, technology, or startup ecosystems, with an ability to assist in evaluating companies, onboarding, or tracking intake data.
- High flexibility and adaptability to pivot across tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- High degree of comfort working in matrixed organization.
- Passion for healthcare innovation and learning with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
