Description

Process and oversee the Youth Apprenticeship program as part of the school-to-career transition initiative. This includes implementing and evaluating the program according to project goals and requirements, while collaborating with multiple stakeholders: the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS), Department of Workforce Development (DWD), local school districts, business and industry partners, and WCTC staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Secure and maintain student registration forms, training agreements, On The Job Learning Guides, Employer Verification forms, post-program surveys, and applications for Youth Apprenticeship participants. Enter and compile data for the preparation and submission of technical reports to the Department of Public Instruction, the Wisconsin Technical College System, and the Department of Workforce Development.
  • Monitor grant expenditures and distribute grant funds to consortium school districts in accordance with project goals and College procedures. Conduct follow-up evaluations to improve the efficacy and scope of Youth Apprenticeship programming.
  • Promote student enrollment in Youth Apprenticeship through collaboration with high school and industry partners through partnerships and local presentations to high school and career events
  • Secure partnership agreements, compile data, with assistance from the Grants team, draft, and submit the annual Youth Apprenticeship grant request to the DWD.
  • Coordinate and run meetings and workshops for the regional Youth Apprenticeship consortium and provide a forum for collaboration and problem solving for program stakeholders.
  • Maintain current professional knowledge in the field of educational and institutional research through professional education and activities.

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of Grant management
  • K12 structure and programming
  • Proficient with Google Drive and products, Microsoft Office, and database applications
  • Ability to attend closely to detailed work, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervision
  • Must possess a valid WI driver's license
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Associate's degree in education, business or related field
  2. Two (2) years related experience in Education

Supplemental Information

The Youth Apprenticeship Program Specialist (Limited Termed Employment-LTE) part-time position supports the Early College Opportunities department and is available to start on or before January 5th, 2026.

This is a limited-term, grant-funded position through June 30, 2026. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling; however, on-site work is required Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Position is not benefits eligible.
