Overview

TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

At TRC we continuously strive to find better ways to give back to our communities. TRC Advanced Energy created a Workforce Development program to strengthen our connection to the local community and create enhanced employment opportunities for individuals desiring to enter the clean energy workforce.

TRC is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Coordinator Apprentice for a 15-week, paid Workforce Development program. As an Administrative Coordinator Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience and develop the skills necessary to support the Outreach team and project managers in administrative and coordination tasks. This role provides an opportunity to learn how to conduct research, manage data, and coordinate efforts within the team and with external stakeholders. The apprentice will also learn new software and platforms that support the Outreach Team.

Disclaimer: Participation in the Workforce Development program is not a guarantee of continued employment with TRC at the end of the 90-day training period.

The position is based out of TRC's New Brunswick New Jersey office.


Responsibilities

On-the-Job Training includes (but is not limited to):

  • Researching new organizations and events relevant to New Construction and Outreach activities.
  • Managing and tracking campaigns, opportunities, activities, and contacts using the program's CRM database (Microsoft Dynamics - experience not required).
  • Performing data entry and management in reporting databases and archiving legacy materials.
  • Managing collateral and giveaway inventory for Outreach campaigns.
  • Researching speaking opportunities for the Outreach team.
  • Providing general administrative support, including communications, project tracking, reporting, and invoicing.
  • Demonstrating problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style that works well in teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills: proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to be flexible and learn new software/platforms
  • Desire to learn energy efficiency concepts and contribute to sustainability efforts.
  • Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Reliable home internet service and ability to set up a home office using company-provided equipment.
  • Verifiable work history and ability to attend occasional in-person meetings.
  • Interest in energy efficiency and sustainability; experience with energy efficiency equipment is a plus.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in administrative coordination while contributing to impactful energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
