As a 24/7 STEMI program. At CRMH we have 5 Cardiac Catheterization Labs. The Cath Lab offers state of the art procedures such as TAVRs, Mitral Clips, Watchman/Amulet, PFO cloLabs. as well as being a high-volume PCI center. As part of CVI, the Cath Lab will be relocating to the new Crystal Spring Tower by 2025. The Crystal Spring Tower is a 400,000-square-foot expansion to Roanoke Memorial Hospital - the future home of our Cardiovascular Institute and an expanded Emergency Department. What we do: Some of the complex therapies/treatments performed include: Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring (SWAN pulmonary artery pressure monitoring, continuous trans venous pacing(TVP) Equipment includes: Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), IMPELLAventricular assist device, Shockwave, Rotablator and CSI Procedures: Diagnostic, Interventional and Complex/High Risk PCI, Structural (TAVR, TMVR, PFO/ASD, Paravalvular Leak, LAA Closure), Cardiomems, LVAD/ Advanced Heart Failure, Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral Procedures Structural Research Clinical Trails: BASELINE Trail, ENCIRCLE trial, Cerclage EFS, CLASP II Tricuspid Regurgitation trail, PARADIGM trail, ASAP II trail, CONFORM Pivotal Trail Coronary Artery Disease Clinical Trails: ARTISAN Study, SAFE STEMI Study, Protect IV Trail, WARRIOR Trail #crystalspringtower #cvi The CVT I- RN assists physician with direct patient care during catheterization or interventional procedures in the scrub, circulator, and monitor positions. Delivers quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to care for adult and geriatric patients. Interacts with unit staff, physicians, management, customers, and ancillary departments. Maintains patient, staff and customer confidentiality. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development. Observes and documents data reflective of the patients' status, interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age and specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures. Exposure may include radiation, infectious diseases, biohazards, and hazardous material, including regulated medical waste. Physical requirements include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, walking, prolonged periods of standing, wearing a 15-lb. lead apron during procedures. Must be able to maintain continual insertion site pressure for a minimum of 30 minutes for hemostatic seal. Flexibility in work schedule required. Must respond/arrive within 30 minutes to Cath Lab when on call. Job can be stressful and fast paced. May be asked to provide care at other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs, requiring employee to provide own transportation What We Require: Education: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing Life Support: Must have and maintain current AHA BLS-HCP certification. Must successfully complete AHAACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status. Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position. Successful completion of cardiac monitoring course required.
