As a Relationship Manager at Ryerson, you will be responsible for Ryerson processing customer orders, making sales calls, and working to establish relationships with customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic territory and account plans, ensuring effective use of resources to drive results
  • Operate independently with minimal guidance, seeking support only in highly complex situations
  • Act as a mentor and trainer to fellow Customer Experience (CX) team members, sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Step in to make informed decisions in the absence of the Inside Sales Manager, demonstrating leadership and initiative
  • Contribute to the creation of innovative solutions for complex challenges, helping shape the future of our customer experience
  • Recognized for strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle difficult issues with confidence
  • Effectively manage multiple customer priorities, delivering high-quality service across all engagements
  • Balance and respond to simultaneous requests from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective resolution of customer service issues
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 7 or more years of prior sales or industry experience required
  • Knowledge of customer business and purchasing philosophies, trends, habits, facilities, and processes
  • Strategic thinker; confident in ability to perform job well
  • Excellent professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Proficiency within Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) required
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
