The Sales Engineering Operations Manager is responsible for providing the operational backbone that enables the Sales Engineering organisation to execute efficiently and scale effectively. This role ensures consistent processes, actionable insights, and well-governed operational change management, while also helping to drive continuous improvement programs, impacting SE as well as its cross-functional partners (Product, Revenue Acceleration, Enablement, Professional Services, as well as Customer Success).

The Operations Manager acts as both a process owner and strategic enabler, translating goals into operational frameworks and ensuring that Sales Engineering has the right support and capacity to perform at the highest level.

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out the following key responsibilities across the designated focus areas:

Operational Frameworks & Governance




    • Establish and maintain consistent operational frameworks supporting department workstreams, including finalising the rollout and maintenance of the SE Standard Operating Model (SOM).
    • Define and run a standardised change intake and approval process for projects and improvements impacting Sales Engineering.



Continuous Improvement




    • Identify opportunities to reduce effort in the SE workflow.
    • Recommend improvements that increase sales likelihood, shorten deal lifecycles and strengthen technical sales play guidance.



Knowledge & Content Management




    • Govern and maintain Sales Engineering information / content and knowledge repositories. Curating field created content to make it findable, logical in cataloging approach and is being kept up to date by the SE -community



Cross-Functional Alignment




    • Act as an operational bridge across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing.
    • Keep processes and workflows synchronised, ensuring the field both receives and delivers consistent information.



Readiness & Field Operations




    • Partner with the Technical Enablement team to deliver and track mandatory readiness and certification programs (general and specialised).
    • Monitor field compliance with readiness programs and identify gaps.



Forecasting & Capacity Planning




    • Monitor workload across SEs and partner sales-support functions.
    • Use data to guide staffing, resource allocation, and investment decisions.



Risk & Issue Management




    • Proactively flag identified risks in SE processes and technical pre-sales engagements.
    • Track recurring issues across workstreams and help drive systemic resolution.



Ad Hoc Project Management / Work Coordination




    • Own the delivery of short-term projects related to capability improvement and or help coordinate items of work such as responding to Analyst RFPs



You Have:



  • Proven experience defining, implementing, and managing operational processes, frameworks and methodologies.
  • Background in Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales, or related technical environments.
  • Strong project / programme management skills with ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Analytical skills for forecasting, capacity planning, and operational insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrable experience in using data to help guide decision making and validate hypothesis


Salary Range: $103,000 - $123,000

In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
