The Sr. Manager, Parcel Operations plays a key role in optimizing Echo's parcel pricing programs. This position oversees carrier sourcing, rate and tariff implementation, pricing analytics, and process enhancements to ensure competitive cost structures and superior service performance. The role also manages contract administration and collaborates cross-functionally with IT, Audit, Finance, Sales, and Operations to drive volume, margin improvement and system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead parcel initiatives, securing optimal cost and service performance. Analyze pricing programs and rate structures to identify cost-saving and margin-improvement opportunities. Prepare and maintain carrier rate tariffs for systemic use in TMS/ERP platforms. Collaborate with IT and Audit Teams to ensure accurate rate loading, billing validation, and compliance with pricing rules. Manage the RFP and General Rate Adjustment (GRA) processes with parcel carriers. Support Outside Sales Agents, Branches, and Account Executives in pricing solutions, proposals, and profitability analysis. Conduct freight cost and margin analyses to support new business, renewals, and strategic decisions. Develop and execute process improvement initiatives that enhance pricing accuracy, operational efficiency, and scalability. Provide regular reporting and metrics to senior management, summarizing pricing trends and carrier performance. Manage contracts, including customer rate setup, renewals, and ongoing maintenance. Administer rate loading and invoicing setup in TMS/ERP systems; validate pricing and maintain the Support Hub. Perform pricing analysis, benchmarking, and margin optimization across LTL and parcel modes. Support client sales with sales calls, integrations, demos, and parcel reporting to enhance customer experience and internal alignment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of experience in transportation pricing, carrier sourcing, or logistics operations (parcel focus strongly preferred). Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools, and TMS platforms. Experience managing carrier relationships and rate structures. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives and deliver measurable business results.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Echo TMS, Oracle, or similar ERP systems. Knowledge of freight audit and payment processes. Familiarity with contract management and RFP software.
