Job Title: Materials Coordinator/ Scheduler

Location: Hauppauge, NY 11788

Duration: 6 to 9 months (Contract)

Shift Timing: 1st

Payrate: $20/hr. - $33/hr. on w2 without benefits (Based on Experience)

Note:

  • Update inventory and production systems accurately and in real time.
  • 2+ years of experience in material handling, dispatching, or shop support (manufacturing preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of production flow, scheduling, or MRP systems (AMAPS experience a plus).


Job Description:

  • In this role, you'll be responsible for moving materials throughout the production floor, ensuring parts and components are where they need to be to meet daily build and shipping schedules.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Move, stage, and organize materials on the production floor to meet schedules.
  • Update inventory and production systems accurately and in real time.
  • Communicate with supervisors, planners, and team leads to resolve material or scheduling issues.
  • Track work-in-progress (WIP) and report discrepancies in parts, paperwork, or system data.
  • Assist in preparing and packaging parts to prevent damage during movement or shipping.
  • Perform other related duties to support production and materials flow.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in material handling, dispatching, or shop support (manufacturing preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of production flow, scheduling, or MRP systems (AMAPS experience a plus).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be energetic, dependable, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) or capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with production travelers, routings, and blueprints.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Understanding of A.P.I.C.S. principles (a plus, not required).
