Position Overview:
Monday thru Friday, the Scales Operations Supervisor will manage the schedules and flow of incoming and outgoing trucks. This role ensures superior customer service, a consistent process, and accurate paperwork throughout the inbound and outbound processes. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Scales Operations Supervisor manages the Gopher Resource the inbound/outbound customer service staff.

Critical Success Criteria:



  • Oversee the process relating to inbound and outbound deliveries to ensure quality customer service and on-time deliveries.
  • Supervise Customer Service Representative(s) to ensure they have the tools and knowledge needed to successfully meet performance objectives.
  • Develop, update, and implement procedures that allow GR to be successful.
  • Monitor daily scheduling to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work hand in hand with the Raw Material Processing Center Manager in order to keep the processing running in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Review and enforce accuracy of BOL processing for accounting purposes.
  • Create and adapt employee scheduling to the needs of the business.



Responsibilities:



  • Manage inbound/outbound customer service staff to maintain optimal departmental performance.
  • Partner with operations to coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries and ensure on time delivery to customers..
  • Validate orders and resolve issues prior to outbound deliveries going to the customers
  • Welcome site guests upon arrival and direct them as appropriate.
  • Perform routine duties such as typing, data entry, producing labels, and filing.
  • Handle main switchboard calls as needed.
  • Participate in meetings, teams, and training seminars.
  • Ensure staff and operational adherence to applicable safety standards.
  • Perform all Customer Service Representative duties when necessary for coverage.
  • Works hand in hand with Refining Manager and shipping personnel to ensure final product is ready and available for shipment.
  • Ensure final product certificates of analysis are ready and available for shipment.
  • Ensure specific customers have required samples accompanying every new lot of lead.
  • Coordinate with Fairbanks for quarterly PMs and unexpected breakdowns.
  • Ensure completion of reports as required, including departmental KPIs, safety and property damage incidents, and environmental reports.
  • Participate in ISO 9001 internal audits.
  • Handle internal UPS shipments and mail as needed.
  • Coordinate plant supplies, carpet cleaning services, and other duties as assigned.
  • May need to be available to field questions outside of regular work hours as needed.



Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of previous work experience in a customer service role.
  • 2+ years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and technical savvy to grasp new technology.
  • Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Passion for teambuilding and unifying people towards common goal.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer centricity.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, ability to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple disciplines concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong sense of urgency; flexibility to reprioritize with minimal notice.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to be trained on RCRA, DOT, and manifest regulations/standards, in accordance with the RCRA permit.



Compensation Information:
Salary Range: $85,077 - $135,898. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives. The market rate for the role is typically at the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
