GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Data Integration Architect will be responsible for designing the vision and implementation of data integration standards across systems and contributes to the overall data management roadmap. This individual will also create short term tactical solutions to achieve long term best practices by collaborating with DVA IT and Epic, to assess and to determine data governance, stewardship and frameworks for managing enterprise data integration standards across the organization. This individual will act as the primary advocate for interoperability standards, establish best practices to ensure accuracy, and identify opportunities for system and process improvements. The role will lead to an expansion of the company's use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives, the Data Integration Architect will achieve this by designing, developing, and implementing data integration processes for Epic and associated systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and oversee the development activities of interoperability and Epic technology platforms and their related support. Primary duties will include contributing to solution reviews, creating data architecture standards and best practices, data design reviews, designing data integration processes, provide recommendations on platform or data architecture, metadata development and ensuring data integrity, quality and consistency.
  • Responsible for designing and managing overall data exchange, transformation and loading solutions in support of business initiatives. This includes file transfers, HL7, FHIR, and other means of exchanging data. Assist with planning, estimates, resource management, solution design and communication to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business owners, solution architects, enterprise architects and support development of strategy and enterprise data integration road maps, standards based on understanding of current and future data integration needs.
  • Oversee the development activities of interoperability processes, review solution designs for new trading partners before optimal solutions are being implemented.
  • Make recommendations for the selection and implementation of the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support data technology goals.
  • Meet with the team individually on a regular basis to perform coaching, training, and personal development plans.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with designing and implementing optimal data integration processes for the Epic ecosystem based on best practices and standards.
  • Expertise hands on experience in one or more interface engine tools (Mirth, InterSystems Health Connect, etc).
  • Demonstrated prior experience with HL7, FHIR, and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated hands on experience and strength in standard interoperability and clinical terminology standards as it impacts Epic end user workflows.
  • Experience in designing end-to-end solutions across the complete systems development lifecycle.
  • Experience with business, data requirements analysis aligned with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Bridges Interfaces Certification

Preferred

  • Utilization and hands on experience with Python, JavaScript, ObjectScript, or other scripting language.
  • Any Interface Engine Certification

TRAVEL AND TIME REQUIREMENTS

Travel: 15%

Nights/Weekends: 5%

The Salary Range for the role is $110,100.00 - $161,700.00/year. If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $64,350.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $64,350.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $60,405.80/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $16.50/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $16.50/hour, Remainder of New York state: $15.50/hour Washington Exempt: $77,968.80/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $17.66/hour, Burien: $21.16/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.29/hour, Renton: $20.90/hour, Seattle: $20.76/hour, Tukwila: $21.10/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $16.66/hour
