Marketing Generalist - Position and Responsibilities

As a Marketing Generalist with Middough, you will play a key role in strengthening the Middough brand through a balance of strategic thinking and creative execution. You will assist in developing and managing brand strategies, creating visually compelling marketing materials, and delivering cohesive messaging that supports business growth and market visibility. In this role, you will also act as both a marketing strategist and designer, collaborate across internal departments to ensure brand consistency, produce high-quality digital and print content, and enhance the overall client and employee experience through thoughtful and engaging marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Help develop and refine the Company brand strategy, making sure all creative and communications align with business goals.
  • Maintain high editorial standards and ensure brand consistency in marketing, business development, and corporate communications.
  • Collaborate with content creators on story ideas, writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager and internal team members to manage the Company's content calendar.
  • Assist with marketing activities both internally and externally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with executives, senior management, project managers, business development teams, and outside partners.
  • Lead the design and production of marketing materials like proposals, presentations, brochures, social media content, and other multimedia.
  • Ensure documents are well-designed, on-brand, and simplify technical content.
  • Keep an updated electronic database of marketing materials.
  • Write and edit content for the blog, social media, sales materials, case studies, PR, advertising, email marketing, and website to engage and attract clients.
  • Proofread for grammar, spelling, style, and brand consistency.
  • Oversee website management, including design, content, performance tracking, and improvements.
  • Use search engine optimization best practices to drive web traffic and improve user experience.
  • Analyze web traffic and engagement to assess content performance.
  • Assist with the marketing proposal process, from creation to delivery, tracking wins and losses.
  • Help develop engineering proposals and qualifications for consulting and major projects.
  • Support the preparation of marketing and business development presentations.
  • Ensure timely submission of sub-consultant data requests.
  • Perform final quality checks on proposals, ensuring grammar and compliance.
  • Help improve the efficiency of proposal development and reduce sales costs.



Education, Experience and Skills

  • The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in English/Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design with an emphasis in Marketing
  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing, brand, or design role.
  • Engineering, Architecture and/or Construction industry experience a plus, but not required.
  • Strong conceptual strategic and creative thinking capabilities.
  • Proposal writing experience a plus but not required.
  • Highly proficient level of experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and web-based interfaces.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Excellent graphic communication, graphic design, copy layout, and proof-reading skills are crucial.
  • Administrative skills such as organizing, filing, spreadsheet manipulation, and follow-through.
  • Effective writing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into engaging narratives.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to drive and achieve results.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
