Full Stack Engineer II

As a Full Stack Engineer II, you will play a critical role in the architecture, development, and maintenance of complex systems supporting cutting edge Artificial Intelligence and automation initiatives for our government customers. Cherokee Federal is an Agentic AI-focused company, and you will be working closely with the core AI team to design and deliver solutions for priority customer use cases. You will be responsible for driving full stack AI and automation solutions from concept to production and employing the full range of technical acumen in a results-first approach to deliver value for our customer's use cases in a manner compliant with security and FedRAMP guidelines. This position requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of modern frameworks, a collaborative team-based work ethic, dynamic adaptability to deliver solutions aligned with the customer's technology stack, creativity, and a passion for problem solving and delivering value.

Full Stack Engineer II Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, QA, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership in architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Lead complex project components, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability by identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions based on customer use case requirements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full technology stack.
  • Deliver solutions with guided autonomy under a trust-based management approach.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, making recommendations for tool, technology and process improvements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Analyze systems and define cutting edge AI and automated approaches to solve customer challenges with a positive return on investment.

Full Stack Engineer II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience.
  • Expertise in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js or similar).
  • Strong experience with server-side languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, .NET).
  • Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL), to include design, transaction management, and data analysis, RESTful APIs, and version control systems (e.g., GitHub).
  • Experience deploying solutions within cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience delivering AI and automation solutions.
    • Experience with Agentic AI and MCP.
    • Experience modernizing and advancing as-is use case implementations.
    • Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems, as Agentic AI is conceptually similar and can be easily transferable.
    • Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, or other advanced web technologies.
    • Experience working in Agile-like environments.
    • Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs.
    • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, GitHub Actions)
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
