Job Description:

Overall, room service associates in a hospital setting play an important role in ensuring that patients receive appropriate nutrition and dietary support during their hospital stay, contributing to their overall well-being and recovery.

• Communicates with nursing departments, clinical dietitians, and personnel to provide excellent patient services.
• Introduces the Catering to You Program following the scripted methods to all new patients.
• Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner. Relays relevant information to Supervisor.
• Takes patient menu selections prior to meals and offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
• Assembles trays according to patient menu on tray ticket and retrieves trays from patients' rooms.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards.
• May assist with loading or unloading supplies and products.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; or 1 - 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Food Handler's Permit required by Madison County.
