As a Technical Writer based in Morgan Hill, CA, you will have responsibility for creating and editing a variety of end-user product manuals and media with the support of engineering and product management. You will research and translate technical information into manuals for non-technical and technical users. You will conduct interviews with users and technical staff to gather data for documentation, and for guidance on final presentation. You may be responsible for contributing to, and documenting, internal processes and supporting product marketing collateral development. You will recommend content and formats that are responsive to technical and customer requirements and produce information products that conform to company documentation and quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities include:



  • Develop and maintain product technical manuals and media from initial plan to publication.
  • Write product descriptions, procedures, and maintenance tasks. Create technical and marketing illustrations.
  • Primary document responsibilities are product user and programming manuals, service manuals, technical datasheets, application notes, and catalogs.
  • This position will be reporting to the Marketing Communications manager based in Morgan Hill.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Communications, or related field, plus 1 year experience as a technical writer or content producer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to create manuals and related collateral with illustrations using professional DTP programs is essential.
  • Advanced computer skills are required. The successful candidate will be computer literate in a corporate Windows environment using Microsoft Office, Adobe development tools, and related products.
  • Familiarity with general electronic test and measurement equipment is required. Experience with spectrum, modulation, and vector network analyzers is desired. Basic familiarity with computer programming concepts is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, and PhotoShop is required. Experience with Adobe InDesign and WebWorks ePublisher is desired.
  • Experience in structured content authoring and enterprise content management systems is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is $99,000 - $120,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Anritsu Company considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
